Facial & Cranial Gua Sha Mastery - Stone Medicine

Gua Sha uses 7 different shaped tools, made of different types of crystals (hence the ‘Stone Medicine’ part).  It combines the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, reflexology zones, meridians, acupressure points and the therapeutic properties of the most relaxing treatment you will ever have - facial reflexology.

I work on the face, neck, décolletage and scalp and there are many benefits to this treatment:

• relaxes the mind and body
• releases emotion held in the face
• releases tight muscles
• can help alleviate headaches, sinus congestion and bruxism (teeth grinding)
• lifts and sculpts the facial structure helping you to age well

There are also some reasons why this treatment may not be for you (contraindications):

• if you’ve had Botox or fillers within the last month
• if you’ve had a facelift within the last 3 months
• you are taking medication that thins the blood as this could cause bruising
• you are taking medication that thins the skin
• you use retinol in your skincare - this may make your skin more sensitive when using the Gua Sha tools and could cause your skin to peel
• any skin issue that would be irritated by rubbing, for example eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, acne, moles, cold sores, thin skin or skin that easily bruises
